Case: Elder abuse

An 83-year-old female, from a non-English speaking background, is brought in with increasing right thigh pain and swelling after falling out of bed 3 days prior. Her son is caring for her full-time at home with no additional help. He states she is not currently taking any medications, she is usually confused but can walk with assistance. On examination she is curled up in foetal position and moaning in pain.
