You are the consultant working in a major trauma centre when an 85 year old man is brought in by ambulance from home after a fall. He undergoes CT imaging which reveals 2 right sided rib fractures as well as a right sided neck of femur fracture. The patient had been treated by his GP for a urine infection over the last 4 days. You learn this is his 3rd fall in 2 months.
