ECG Rhythms

Sinus rhythms

ECG Rhythms

Common rhythms that originate from the sinus node include normal sinus rhythm, sinus tachycardia, sinus bradycardia and sinus arrhythmia.

Atrial rhythms

ECG Rhythms

Atrial rhythms originate within the atria.

Junctional rhythms

ECG Rhythms

Junctional rhythms originate within the AV node or Bundle of His.

Ventricular rhythms

ECG Rhythms

Ventricular rhythms originate within the ventricles.

Supraventricular Tachycardia

data-id="supraventricular-tachycardia" data-id="atrioventricular-node-reentrant-tachycardia" data-id="atrioventricular-re-entry-tachycardia"

A SVT can be any rhythm that originates above the ventricles, but frequently the term is used to describe junctional re-entry rhythms such as AVNRT and AVRT

Extra Beats

ECG Rhythms

Premature Beats arrive early, Escape Beats arrive late, and 3 or more escape beats make an Escape rhythm

ECG rhythms can be grouped by the area of the heart in which they originate, e.g. sinus, atrial, AV junctional and ventricular rhythms.
