The Gas Goblin
Exercises in arterial and venous blood gas interpretation.

Project information
⚠️ Blood gas analysers often output raw numbers and leave us to mentally run the labyrinth of equations and pattern-recognition steps each time. This post-nights project was built out of frustration with the gap between this laborious (and potentially-error-prone) practice and modern resuscitation principles (cognitive offloading, human-factors), and then it evolved into a bit more of a walkthrough quiz/teaching tool from there.
Understanding the calculations (e.g. Winter’s formula, anion gap, delta gap, expected compensation) is important, but in busy clinical settings we need tools that lighten cognitive load.
